Watch these stars in action on Tuesday, July 7 in Bethesda!
The Cal Ripken Sr. League's 30-man roster represents all eight of the league’s ballclubs, with every position featuring players who have made their mark throughout the first half of the season.
The Bethesda Big Train leads all clubs with six All-Star selections, followed by the Metro South County Braves with five. The Olney Cropdusters and Alexandria Aces each placed four players on the roster, and Southern Maryland earned three selections. The Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts, Gaithersburg Giants, and D.C. Grays are also represented.
Fans attending Tuesday’s showcase will see nearly every offensive leaderboard represented.
The roster includes the league’s batting average leader Nadav Machlin (Braves, .415), home run leader Zachary Malvasio (Big Train, 7), RBI leader Robert Kelly (Braves, 25), and hits leader Daniel McGinnis (Aces, 36).
Many of the league’s top arms will also take the mound. The All-Star pitching staff includes ERA leader Logan Hartman (Cropdusters, 0.50), strikeout machine Kyzer Smith (Big Train, 25 strikeouts), and three-game winners Brody Juntunen (Senators) and Conlan Taylor (Senators).
Catchers Headline the Offense
Behind the plate, the CRSCBL features three catchers who have produced in very different ways but have all earned their place among the league’s elite.
Metro South County’s Collin Lott (Northern State) has assembled one of the most complete offensive seasons thus far in the league.
Batting .370 through 22 games, Lott owns the fourth-highest batting average in the CRSCBL, scoring 16 runs and driving in nine. His consistency has anchored the Braves' lineup, as he has recorded a hit in 17 of his 22 appearances.
One of Lott’s most outstanding performances came during the June 6 victory over Southern Maryland. He finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored as the Braves survived a 12-11 slugfest. Earlier that week, he collected multiple hits in consecutive contests against the D.C. Grays and Senators before recording another two-hit night against Bethesda on June 20.
Alexandria catcher Matthew Pazak (UPenn) has provided considerably more power.
The Penn product enters the All-Star break batting .319 with four home runs, 18 RBIs, along with 18 runs scored over 23 games. His combination of power and run production has made him one of the league’s most dangerous catchers.
His signature performance came on June 17 against the D.C. Grays. Pazak erupted for a 3-for-5 evening with four RBIs, highlighted by a three-run homer that blew the game open in the fifth frame before adding another RBI single later in the contest. His consistent middle-of-the-order presence has consistently provided for the Aces.
Representing the Cropdusters is Landon Springmeyer (Northern Kentucky), whose raw power has made him one of the league’s breakout stars.
Batting .234 through 17 games, Springmeyer has already launched five home runs and collected 22 RBIs, tying him for second in the league in home runs while ranking among the RBI leaders despite playing fewer games than nearly every player around him.
His defining performance came on June 16 against Alexandria. The Olney catcher went 3-for-5 with two home runs, five RBIs, and three runs scored. His first blast, a three-run shot in the sixth inning, stretched the Cropdusters’ advantage before he notched another two-run bullet in the seventh inning, capping one of the best individual performances in a game by any hitter this season.
An Infield Loaded with Talent
The CRSCBL infield is defined by sheer production. From league leaders in batting average to record-setting RBI totals and home run power, the middle of the diamond is loaded with domination both offensively and defensively.
Olney first baseman Dylan Melton (UMBC) has become a consistent contact hitter. Through 15 games, Melton bats .322 with 11 RBIs, 10 runs scored, and four stolen bases, serving as a versatile piece in a Cropdusters lineup that has repeatedly produced big innings.
While not always the centerpiece of Olney’s power surge, Melton has been an incredibly reliable first baseman, consistently putting the ball in play and driving runners home.
The Aces’ first baseman Hunter White (West Liberty) enters the All-Star Game hitting .341 with 2 homers, 19 RBIs, and 14 runs scored across 24 games.
White has delivered multiple multi-hit performances, consistently producing in the heart of the Aces lineup, including on June 5 against the Giants. White launched a 3-run dinger to break open the game in a key divisional win early in the season.
Metro South County second baseman Robert Kelly (Monmouth) is the definition of a complete offensive player in the CRSCBL.
Through 25 games, Kelly is hitting .372 with 3 home runs, 25 RBIs, 20 runs scored, and six stolen bases, and also leading the league in both games played and RBIs. Kelly’s consistency has been unmatched, with clutch RBI hits throughout the season.
Returning from last year’s championship Big Train roster, Brennon Wright (South Alabama) has once again been a steady and efficient force for the team.
Through 20 games, Wright is batting .311 with 10 RBIs, 19 runs scored, and 8 stolen bases, ranking among the league’s most efficient baserunners. His consistency in setting the table has made him indispensable in a loaded Bethesda lineup.
Few players in the league combine power and clutch production like Wright’s Bethesda teammate, shortstop Cal Johnson (Maryland).
In 23 games, Johnson is hitting .279 with 5 home runs, 22 RBIs, 27 runs scored, and 6 stolen bases, ranking among league leaders in total bases and extra-base hits. His season has already been defined by several big moments: a walk-off home run against Gaithersburg on June 21 and a two-homer game against the D.C. Grays on June 27, along with a league-leading three triples.
Metro South County shortstop Nadav Machlin (Paris JC) has been one of the most consistent hitters in the CRSCBL and enters the All-Star Game with the highest batting average in the league at .415 through 16 games. He has also contributed 17 RBIs, 15 runs scored, and 3 stolen bases, serving as both a table-setter and a run producer.
Olney third baseman Ryan Bouma (Frostburg State) has been a central piece of an explosive Cropdusters offense, batting .266 with 4 home runs, 18 RBIs, and 28 runs scored.
Braves third baseman Alejandro Vazquez (Bryant) has also put together a strong all-around season, hitting .343 with 14 RBIs, 16 runs scored, and 5 stolen bases thus far.
A Powerful Outfield
Few players in the CRSCBL have been as unstoppable as Southern Maryland center fielder Bud Coombs (Vanderbilt), a premier hitter in the league.
Through 12 games, Coombs is hitting an extraordinary .435 with 5 home runs, 19 RBIs, 24 runs scored, and 6 stolen bases. He also earned Hitter of the Week Honors (June 22) after a week of hitting .545 (12-for-12), recording 16 RBIs, notching 4 homers, posting a 1.091 slugging percentage, and helping power a Senators’ offense that scored 90 runs that week.
His statement performance came on June 17 against the Braves, when Coombs went 4-for-5 with a home run and 4 RBIs, including a grand slam that flipped the game.
Olney outfielder Andrew Duncan (Duke) has been another complete five-tool player.
Through 18 games, Duncan is hitting .313 with 4 home runs, 15 RBIs, 21 runs scored, and 9 stolen bases. He is able to impact every part of the game, consistently reaching base in Olney’s offensive explosion innings.
Bethesda outfielder Zachary Malvasio (UCF) is the league’s most dangerous power hitter.
Through 21 games, he leads the CRSCBL with 7 home runs (league leader), a .343 batting average, a .672 slugging percentage (league leader), 18 RBIs, 15 runs scored, along with five stolen bases. His most complete showing came on July 1 against Olney, when he went 4-for-5 with 3 RBIs and 2 home runs, driving nearly all of Bethesda’s offense during a single game. His elite power and run production have made him a premier threat.
Alexandria outfielder Daniel McGinnis has been the definition of consistency. Through 24 games, McGinnis is hitting .391 with 36 hits, 22 RBIs, and 14 runs scored, ranking first in the league in hits at multiple points throughout the season and within the top three in batting average.
He earned Week 2 Hitter of the Week honors after hitting .625 over that stretch, recording 10 hits in 16 at-bats, driving in eight RBIs, and launching two homers.
Silver Spring-Takoma outfielder Gabriel Pegues (Lynchburg) adds elite speed and high-level offensive production to the All-Star roster. Through 24 games, Pegues is hitting .293 with two home runs, 16 RBIs, 15 stolen bases, and 30 runs scored (league leader). He also earned Hitter of the Week honors on June 30 after dominating the week with a .563 batting average, 9 runs scored, 5 RBIs, a 1.063 slugging percentage, and a .667 on-base percentage.
On June 24 against the Big Train, the Virginia native went 5-for-5 with a double, a triple, and 3 RBIs, scoring multiple runs and reaching base in every plate appearance. That game showcased his complete skill set.
Alexandria outfielder Jack Warner (UPenn) is another steady hitter in the CRSCBL. Through 20 games, Warner is hitting .365 with two homers, 10 RBIs, and 16 runs scored. He currently ranks 6th in batting average and 6th in on-base percentage.
Designated Hitters Add Middle-of-the-Order Firepower
The designated hitters for the 2026 CRSCBL All-Star Game bring together three of the league’s most dangerous bats.
D.C. Grays DH Beny Bikar Jr. (Southern) has produced steadily. Through just 13 games, Bikar is hitting .386 with 3 RBIs and 6 runs scored. Though his overall stat line is modest compared to some of the league’s power hitters, his role within the Grays offense has been important in setting the tone at the plate and contributing situational production in close contests.
Big Train’s Emilio Gonzalez (Nova Southeastern) has been an absolute anchor to Bethesda’s offense this summer.
The reigning league Hitter of the Year made an immediate impact on opening night at Povich Field, delivering a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Big Train to a dramatic victory. From that moment on, he has remained one of Bethesda's most dependable hitters. Through 23 games, Gonzalez is hitting .318 with 22 RBIs and 16 runs scored.
Gaithersburg's Cole McKenna (Longwood) is an electric leadoff and run-producing threat for the Giants. Through 15 games, the New Jersey native is hitting .373 with eight RBIs, 21 runs scored, and 11 stolen bases. He also ranks among the league leaders in doubles and total offensive impact.
During his most complete offensive game of the season on June 7 against Olney, McKenna was 5-for-5 at the plate, delivering a home run, a double, two RBIs, and five runs scored.
Dominant Pitching Staff Rounds Out the Roster
The talent doesn’t stop with the bats.
The CRSCBL All-Star pitching staff is stacked with dominant pitching starters and relievers.
Few pitchers have been more difficult to score against than Olney’s Logan Hartman (Jacksonville). Through five starts, Hartman owns a league-best 0.50 ERA while posting a 1-0 record across 18 innings. He has surrendered just one earned run all summer, holding opponents to a .161 batting average while striking out 17 hitters and posting a 0.94 WHIP.
Bethesda reliever Kyzer Smith (Florida Atlantic) is the league’s most efficient bullpen arm.
In eight appearances, Smith owns a 1.00 ERA with 25 strikeouts over 18 innings, tying for fourth in the league in strikeouts despite not making a start. The Big Train right-hander has limited opposing hitters to a .203 batting average while collecting two wins and a save. His 12.5 strikeouts per nine innings have made him a premier late-inning weapon.
Southern Maryland’s Brody Juntunen (Florida Atlantic) is an extremely effective starter. Juntunen enters the All-Star game tied for the league lead with three victories while posting a 1.42 ERA over 19 innings. The right-hander has struck out 17 batters, owns an outstanding 0.89 WHIP, and has held hitters to a .159 batting average.
His Senators teammate, Conlan Taylor (Binghamton), has been equally impressive out of the bullpen. Taylor has yet to allow an earned run through eight appearances, posting a perfect 0.00 ERA while compiling a 3-0 record with a save. Across 12 innings, he has struck out 13 batters, walked only two hitters, and recorded a stellar .083 WHIP.
Silver Spring-Takoma’s Christian Dray (Richmond) has quietly put together one of the strongest pitching campaigns in the CRSCBL.
The Virginia native owns a 1.17 ERA through five appearances, including four starts, striking out 20 batters across 15.1 innings. The right-hander consistently overpowers hitters, recording nearly 12 strikeouts per nine innings while only allowing two total earned runs.
Metro South County’s Tommy Blackburn (Christopher Newport) earned the league’s first Pitcher of the Week award after dominating during Week 1. Blackburn made two starts and posted a 1.13 ERA, striking out a league-high eight batters over eight innings. He limited opponents to a .200 batting average and consistently escaped traffic on the bases, highlighted by his debut against the Aces when he stranded a runner on third by striking out the final two hitters of the inning.
For the season, Blackburn has continued to be a cornerstone of the Braves’ rotation, posting a 1.96 ERA across 23 innings with a 0.96 WHIP, 19 strikeouts, and a complete-game shutout, holding opponents to just a .190 batting average.
Teammate Gavin Elliot (Marymount) followed Blackburn by earning Week 2 Pitcher of the Week honors on June 15. Elliot tossed seven dominant innings against Southern Maryland, allowing just two hits and two runs, striking out five to earn the victory.
Now, through five total appearances, including three starts, the left-hander owns a 2.63 ERA with a 2-1 record over a team-high 24 innings, limiting hitters to a .216 batting average.
Bethesda starter Bryce Dolby (Cal State Bakersfield) has been a dependable presence atop the Big Train pitching staff all summer. Dolby has made six starts, the most of any All-Star pitcher, compiling a 3.60 ERA with 20 strikeouts over 20 innings.
Olney’s Landon Edwards (Towson) has also earned his place among the league’s best. In four starts, Edwards owns a 3.08 ERA while striking out 14 batters across 14.2 innings. He has limited opponents to a .189 batting average and has paired with Hartman to give the Cropdusters one of the league’s strongest starting rotations.
Gaithersburg’s Sean Williams (Undecided) rounds out the All-Star pitching staff. Williams owns a 1.65 ERA through six appearances while holding hitters to a .193 batting average. Splitting time between the rotation and bullpen, he has provided valuable innings for the Giants throughout the first half of the season.
